Tea Time for Bunnies

Cheers jolly good fellow...would you care to join me for a spot of tea? The English are known for their love of tea time. Although I am a 100% American rabbit, I do love a cup of tea every now and then. What better way to relax then curling up with a good book in your hutch with a cup of tea to sip on?
Did You Know . . . Tea is Healthy for Rabbits?
It's true! Herbal teas can help solve certain ailments in sick or nervous rabbits. The following is a list of the herbal teas and their corresponding remedies for under-the-weather bunnies.
Please note: Tea should be given to rabbits cooled or iced with no sugar.
- Blackberry Tea - Calms the stomach. If your pet rabbit isn't eating regularly, it could mean that he has a digestive problem. Blackberry can help calm their stomach down and make them feel well enough to eat.
- Mint Tea - Keeps bunnies cool. If the weather outside is scorching, some refreshing mint tea can help ease the summer heat.
- Strawberry Tea - Anti-septic and rich in iron. This tea can help prevent a miscarriage in a mother bunny and can also help soothe inflamed areas and rashes.
- Thyme Tea - Anti-inflammatory and expectorant. If your rabbit has the "snuffles" with symptoms of sneezing and watery eyes, some thyme tea is just what the doctor ordered!
